The 11th Day is a 90 minute documentary film sponsored by A.G. Spanos and filmed by an award winning production crew. It chronicles the story of the Cretan resistance movement in World War II as told first hand and on-location by several of its surviving members, and through dramatic re-enactments.
In 2005, the film made a theatrical tour throughout the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, during which it received critical acclaim in publications including The Chicago Tribune, Canada’s National Post, The Sacramento Bee, and Newsday. Exhibitions have included a special advance screening requested by members of the United States Congress in 2004, held at the Capitol, and at the British Embassy in Athens, Greece in 2009. Research for the film, including unpublished photos and diaries, has been requested by and provided to museums around the world, including the National World War II Museum in New Orleans, The CIA Museum at CIA Headquarters, and Britain’s Imperial War Museum.
